About Me and My Business and why I'm an
International Board Certified Lactation
Consultant (I.B.C.L.C.)
Veronica Tingzon, IBCLC

In 1997, I became a mother for the first time. I
did not know, at the time, what was in store for
me. I thought breastfeeding was supposed to be
the most natural thing a woman could do and
that it would just fall into place naturally for me
and my baby. Boy, was I wrong! Lactation
Consultants were few and far between in those
days, and the resources, be it by the internet or
support groups, were scarce, too. Through the
love and support of a breastfeeding support
group and the caring nature of the nurturing
lactation educator who ran the support group,
my son and I finally got the hang of
breastfeeding and continued to do so until he
was 9 months old. I couldn't have done it without
help. When my second son was born in 2003, by
then I knew I had to become a lactation
consultant! Although nursing was easier this
time around, it still started off a little rocky. I was
so grateful for the help I got from my lactation
consultant that I vowed to become one, too. And,
by the way, I went on to nurse that child for two
years. After training at U.C.S.D. through their
specialized lactation consultant program, I sat
for the board exam to be an I.B.C.L.C. in July
2005 and became fully certified in October
2005. Now my time is dedicated to my family
and to helping women and their babies get off to
the best start possible by breastfeeding! Apart
from my private practice, I also work at Scripps
Mercy hospital in San Diego as a Lactation
Consultant and I also work at Tri-City Medical
Center doing the same. In the evenings, I may
teach a pre-natal breastfeeding class with either
hospital about once per week. I am also proud
to be the hostess of a weekly podcast called
"Mommy's Milk and More" and contributor to the
PregTastic Pregnancy Podcasts.
About Me
Testimonials

"...I just wanted to reach out and let you know what
a huge help you were to my baby and I... It was a
giant relief to be there (at support group) each
week, to have all of my questions answered and to
be reassured by you and the other moms. You are
GREAT... I will recommend you to anyone. You are
just so warm and a wealth of information. Thank
you so much, I truly can't tell you how much you
helped me!"

"...Thank you so much for all your help and
encouragement, you are such a blessing! I'll be
praying for you and your family."
~Jessica in Temecula, CA

"I have been meaning to email you for some time
just to say thank you once again.
My baby is about 4 1/2 months old now and doing
great.  We just had her 4 month check-up a couple
weeks ago and she was 13 lbs. 10 oz.  She is
in the 50th percentile for weight!  I can't believe it.
I never thought that we would get here.  Thanks so
much for all you did to help us through that tough
time.  You not only were a huge help in
terms of all the mechanics of breastfeeding but
also a great emotional support.
Thanks for the reassurance that everything would
work out fine and for helping me to stick with it.

My baby and I thank you every day."
